Hola apasionados del taekwondo, el día de hoy hablaré de un tema muy importante en la educación y en el taekwondo de formación: los castigos y los premios.¿Son necesarios?Los castigos han sido utilizados para moldear la conducta desde hace quien sabe cuanto, sin embargo su efectividad ha sido cuestionada sobre todo en el largo plazo. Personalmente veo un gran inconveniente cuando hablamos de castigos y premios.¿Cuál es?Castigar o premiar por hacer algo equivale a decir que hacer eso no vale la pena.Si para que Pablito haga 5o patadas de frente lo tengo que amenazar con una vara, lagartijas, o lo que sea. La única razón por la que Pablito hará esas 50 patadas es por miedo al castigo, no comprenderá para que le sirven esas patadas.Es lo mismo si lo premio, que en muchas ocasiones es parecido a un soborno. Si haces esto... te regalo esto... Al premiar de esta forma transmitimos el mensaje de que la cosa que queremos que haga el niño, cualquiera que sea, no vale la pena hacerse por si misma.Muchas escuelas de educación básica que se quieren etiquetar como modernas suelen decir "aquí no castigamos, mandamos a los niños a reflexionar" en la práctica eso equivale a un castigo al que ni siquiera le llaman por su nombre.Digamos que si vas a castigar, al menos llámalo castigo. De lo contrario los niños asocian la palabra pensar con algo negativo, cuando debiera ser lo contrario. En un entorno de motivación los castigos no tendrían mucho sentido, no imagino al entrenador de Roger Federer diciéndole que tiene que practicar 100 saques más o lo pondrá hacer unas lagartijas. ¿Por qué?
