In 2010 schreven 33 kinderen die opgroeiden in de Gaza strook over ervaringen die ze ondanks hun jonge leeftijd al met elkaar deelden. De Gaza-oorlog van 2008-2009 speelt een grote rol in hun getuigenissen. Deze verzameling teksten is bekend geworden als De Gazamonologen van het Palestijnse Ashtar Theater. Op woensdag 29 november worden ze in theaters over de hele wereld opnieuw gelezen. Ook in Nederland en België doen vele theaters mee. In Amsterdam zijn dat ITA, De Brakke Grond, Podium Mozaïek en Het Bijlmerparkheater. Tom Helmer van Theater Bellevue ging langs bij de repetities in ITA en maakte daar kennis met Noor Alkemade, Evita Noordpool en Emin Yalcin. Zij spraken alvast drie monologen in.
