Led Zeppelin está considerada como la banda que allanó el camino a las posteriores bandas de heavy metal setentero, como Deep Purple o Black Sabbath, así como una de las que sentó parte del estilo sobre el que se cimenta el hard rock heredado por el grunge en la década de 1990.
