De reddingsoperatie van Credit Suisse heeft de beurshandel van maandag bepaald. De bank werd afgelopen weekend verkocht aan concurrent UBS. De goudprijs steeg vanochtend naar 2000 dollar per troy ounce, de hoogste prijs sinds een jaar. Amazon schrapt de komende tijd 9000 banen, nadat begin dit jaar ook al 18.000 banen bij het bedrijf verdwenen. Ondernemers met hoge energiekosten kunnen vanaf dinsdag een tegemoetkoming aanvragen bij de Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, de zogenoemde TEK-regeling.
