Dead Show/podcast for 8/16/13

from The Deadpod

This week's Deadpod is a bit unusual, as I decided to bring you an audience recording of a show that took place 33 years ago on the banks of the Mississippi River... at the Mississippi River Festival across the river from St. Louis in Edwardsville, Illinois. While I wasn't at this show, I've heard many reports from friends over the years that this was a complete *blast*, probably due, at least partially, to the fact that there was supposedly an absolute deluge of a storm going on especially in the second set.. As I listened to this first set I thought it was obvious that the band was having a good time... I also thought that the recording while not pristine, was worth listening to so I decided to feature it this week... I'll play set 2 next week unless enough of you object to the audience source (unfortunately that's all that is available of this one.. ) Mississippi River Festival, Edwardsville, IL (8/16/80) Alabama Getaway Promised Land They Love Each Other Me and My Uncle El Paso Althea Looks Like Rain Tennessee Jed Easy to Love You New Minglewood Blues Deal You can listen to this week's Deadpod here: http://traffic.libsyn.com/deadshow/deadpod081613.mp3 Thanks so much for listening, and for your support - the Deadpod would not be possible without your kind contributions..
