birb this birb that whys it always gotta be about birbs --- i saw a bird i saw it die i know it hurt collapse and cry i saw it shiver flesh pink and wet its ragged feathers i can't forget i tried to feed it with seeds and care but i looked into its beady eyes and saw a mournful stare i listened for its heartbeat i just heard it's ragged breath its tiny body trembling and gasping before death, and i knew it wouldn't be long now and my heart began to bleed i found myself bent over praying though i don't believe i knew life wasn't fair, i cursed the hand of fate all that i could do was hope it might find heaven's gate soon, because its tail was broken its wings were smashed its body held it prisoner its soul soon free at last i felt defeated the end was near it writhed and then stopped suddenly i sensed it disappear the bird lay quiet, and it didn't make a sound i was overcome with sorrow, how long would i be around that night i had a dream, i soared on golden wings and i knew that bird was happier in death it was a king, I realized though it was in pain that pain doesn't last forever i wonder if it could be that death is the utmost pleasure when i am sleeping am i slowly inching closer does hades have a warm embrace, persephone her lovely face, whenever i am feeling blue there's nothing else that I can do my mind begins to wander, and i see the end worth pondering more is life really worth it, i don't know what to measure by they say that life will find a way, well it finds its way to die maybe it's not so bad maybe it isn't sad maybe it's really great maybe i'll tempt fate
