Deadly earthquake strikes southern Japan
from 7News Just In · host LiSTNR
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, killing 13 people with more missing. The worst damage occurred at a shopping centre in Kashima Town, where a partial collapse was followed by a massive explosion believed to be caused by a gas leak, leaving at least 10 people unaccounted for and two women dead. A large industrial chimney also collapsed at a nearby paper mill, trapping 11 people beneath the rubble, while building collapses, fires and a train derailment were reported across the island.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
