Deadly weekend weather: Flash floods cause damage, deaths in Central and Southern Utah

from KSL's Inside Sources

It was a heartbreaking weekend of deadly wild weather across the state. Flash flooding in Wayne County is suspected of killing five family members who were out camping, hiking, and rappelling near Bicknell. The same storm system forced water and mud down the mountain and into the town of Beaver. Much of the debris came from the Cottonwood Fire burn scar and even closed I-15 for a few hours. KSL-TV's Alex Cabrero is on the scene in Beaver and explains what things look like as the sun rises. KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson joins the show to give an update on the forecast -- unfortunately, more wet weather is in store for the Beaver area. Then we hear from friends of Katrina and Spencer Long, two parents killed in flash flooding while camping near Bicknell.
