Dealing with the Guilt of Letting Go

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

Dealing with the Guilt of Letting Go Letting go is one of the most difficult acts we can face. It often feels like we are abandoning something or someone we love, whether it's a dream, a relationship, or a season of life. The guilt that comes with letting go can weigh heavily on our hearts, convincing us that we've failed or betrayed something important. But God assures us that He is with us in every season of release. In Isaiah 41:10, He says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you." When God calls us to let go, it is not a sign of abandonment but an invitation to trust Him more deeply. He sees the bigger picture that we cannot yet comprehend, and He holds our future with tenderness. Letting go is an act of faith, trusting that God's plans for us are good, even if it means stepping into the unknown. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul reminds us, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" We may feel weak in our letting go, but God's strength carries us through. Take comfort today in knowing that God holds you gently through the pain of release.
