What this episode covers
Dean Cobler isn’t exactly an accidental student, but he certainly didn’t arrive in Australia by design. It just wasn’t part of his plan. The one-time Business Entrepreneurship student from the University of Hawaii took on all sorts of jobs after his graduation – from selling software to teaching English in China, but nothing ever really seemed to fit. It wasn’t until he met his partner while travelling through New Zealand that Australia suddenly started to look like a viable destination, but even then Dean wasn’t convinced. After they arrived here with virtually no expectations something strange and unpredictable happened, Dean and his partner fell in love with our country, and particularly the Gold Coast, where Dean is now studying his Masters in Education at Griffith University.
