Deano Cantrell - Owner of Freedom Boat Club of Lake Oconee

Deano and his family moved to Lake Oconee, from the Atlanta area, in 2012 with a goal of increasing their quality of life. While the lake was obviously a big attraction, what made the decision easy was Lake Oconee Academy. With children in school, education was a factor in making a decision to move to the area. It was a few years after moving here that Deano and his wife Heather, decided to "take the plunge" into business ownership and opening the Freedom Boat Club of Lake Oconee, a relatively new concept of boat ownership. Not having been a "boat guy", the decision and journey into the business has been both interesting and challenging. It has been a great, if unconventional ride, for them and the Boat Club is very well known in the Lake area.
