Death and Resurrection
from MERCYhouse Sermons · host MERCYhouse
A sermon given by Pastor Tommy Moore on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 on 1 Corinthians 15:12-28. "Living in light of Christ’s Resurrection. Jesus coming back from the dead has profound implications for us as Christians. It is the basis for our faith. We see in verses 12-19 that if Christ did not come back from the dead, then Paul’s preaching is in vain. The apostles have misrepresented God. The Corinthians’ faith is futile-- they remain eternally condemned in their sin and those who have died as Christians are just dead in the ground. If Christ did not come back to life, Christians are “people most to be pitied.” The opening lines of verse 20 paint the reality we live in: “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead.”
