Death is Loss, Not Losing

from Cancer Covered

Matt Malcore is a 5th generation funeral director and Malcore Funeral Home & Crematory owner. Since he was a young boy, Matt hoped that he could serve the Green Bay community the way his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather have for over 100 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UW-Stevens Point and Associates’s degree in Applied Sciences from Worsham College. He has coached for the Green Bay Strikers as well as Notre Dame Academy and is a proud member of the Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society. During his free time, Matt enjoys playing in the NWSL adult soccer league for Westchester United and spending time with his wife, Lisa, their children, Violet and Oliver, and their faithful companion, Evie. Matt joins us today to discuss the importance of preparing for the inevitability of death. Matt explains why he believes most Americans are in denial about their mortality and why families often avoid conversations about death and dying. We discuss how the medical community has realized the damaging effects of avoiding the conversation of death, what can happen by denying the inevitable, and how hope can still exist even in the face of death. We also discuss the steps we should take to prepare ourselves and our loved ones in the event of our passing suddenly, the importance of understanding how Powers of Attorney work in your state, and the important things you should include in your end-of-life planning folder. “There’s hope beyond our passing.”– Matt Malcore This week on Cancer Covered:How Matt became a funeral directorThe unique way children handle deathWhy Matt believes many people are in denial about their mortalityWhy do families often avoid having conversations about death and dyingThe pros and cons of hospice care vs. hospital care when preparing for the end of lifeThe damaging effects of avoiding the conversation about the inevitableCreating an ‘If I Die” folder for your spouse and loved ones and what it should includeHow hope can still exist, even in the face of deathMatt’s advice on acknowledging our mortalityWhat we should do to prepare ourselves and our loved ones for our deathUnderstanding how Powers of Attorney work in your stateHow Malcore Funeral Home helps the community pre-plan for the end of life Connect with Matt Malcore:Malcore Funeral Home & CrematoryMalcore Funeral Home & Crematory on LinkedInMalcore Funeral Home & Crematory on FacebookMalcore Funeral Home & Crematory on TwitterMatt Malcore on LinkedIn Join Our Free Monthly Support GroupNo one should carry the burden of cancer alone. Lynne's Podcast Lynne August MD Dr. A offers her interpretations and applications of Dr. Revici’s profound research at DrRevici.com and the Revici Journal. Dr. Revici was arguably fifty to one hundred years ahead of his time in his application of quantum physics to medical sciences. As a once-aspiring physicist, this alone propelled Dr. A to Dr. Revici. As a physician, she felt compelled, and in some palpable way responsible, to understand Dr. Revici’s ability to control pain and achieve remissions in terminal cancer patients with his non-toxic “guided chemotherapy”, even many cancers that conventional therapy failed to control. Most of the time his questions and solutions were as unprecedented as they were effective. While Dr. Revici was primarily focused on cancer, Dr. A’s research and therapeutics to prevent and treat all chronic and degenerative disease can transform 21st century medicine.
