Death Of Codes - On The Edge Of Knowledge (Jacki-E remix)

This is my remix of "On the Edge of Knowledge" by Death of Codes. The original is a beautiful but dark ambient soundscape. I wanted to turn it into a techno track In the course of doing my remix it decided it wanted to be an acid techno track!! It started life as my entry into the Beat Collective Challenge of 10-01-2022 in which we have two weeks to incorporate two samples into a new track. The samples were provided by Jake Harefield, an Australian wildlife photographer.: Sample 1: The call of the New Holland Honey Eater ("Jingee" in the local Noongar language) Sample 2: Short chirp from the Western Thornbill. For Sample 1, I dragged it into Ableton's Simpler, selected a point where the bird call became a tone, increased the attack to smooth it out, EQ'd it and added reverb. It's a "woo" sound on the first beat of each bar for the entire track. For Sample 2 I did the same thing in Simpler to create a three chord synth riff. You can hear it at 0:29 and at various other points. It's more prominent in the breakdown from 2:55 to 3:53. After creating the smooth tone I EQ'd it, added Reverb, Saturation and Multiband Dynamics to beef up the mid-range. Then I added the remix stems I wanted to use and put everything together.
