She also wrote “Hell Gone Mad…Michigan’s Men of the USS Indianapolis Disaster.” Betsy talks about the secret mission of the USS Indianapolis in World War II, its torpedo sinking and the men who died, as well as the captain’s court-martial. Betsy’s interest started with a missing bronze plaque and an art print of the Indianapolis. She tells host Jim Fausone about where those items were found, including an item found in a toilet.Naval Strength with Jonathan Page, PhD, USNDr. Jonathan Page, US Navy vet, is now a Professor of Engineering Practice at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. He discusses his 21-year career in the Navy, the current state of the Navy’s shipbuilding, and the careers available. He explains to host Jim Fausone that 70% of the content of modern navy ships is from outside the shipyards.
