Philippians 3:13–14 (CSB) reminds us to forget what is behind and reach forward to what is ahead. Paul wrote these words knowing firsthand that a messy past does not cancel a hopeful future. Jesus forgives, restores, and invites us to move forward. Sometimes we carry old mistakes, regrets, fear, or guilt into a new year. Jesus doesn’t want yesterday to ruin today. That doesn’t mean ignoring what went wrong. It means making things right when we can, asking for forgiveness, and trusting that God still has good plans ahead. A new year is a chance for a new direction. More kindness. More honesty. More forgiveness. More listening to Jesus. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about choosing to move forward with Him.
