Reach out on my LinkedIn to come on the podcast or submit questions. It is okay to already have your mind made up when or even before you start nursing school. It is still useful to explore and keep your mind open to ensure you don't miss out on opportunities that you do not yet know about. In this episode, I share my transformation from wanting to be an ED nurse and quickly become an NP, to wanting nothing more than working in the NICU as an RN for the rest of eternity. How did I get there? How do you keep your mind open while still going after what you already decided? How would exploring these same things ALSO make sure you stand out in interviews for the job you already want, even if you don't change your mind? The thing is that one question: "why do you want to do this kind of nursing/work in this department," WILL be asked of you. Chances are you will answer the same way every other applicant answers and this question may be the key to exploring other avenues you have not yet considered.
