Disarming Hamas. Some have said that the decommissioning of arms by the IRA , the Irish Republican Army over two decades ago, could serve as a blueprint for disarming Hamas today. Then the IRA’s disarmament involved verified destruction of its arsenal followed by it being part of a power-sharing government in Belfast.
