Deconstructing Feministic Psychology (HOS118)

from The Heart of Soul · host Josef Shapiro

Today, a special edition of the podcast where I read a piece of couple’s psychology to my friend and colleague Anja Schugardt. I’m coining a term in the title of this episode, “Feministic Psychology” to encapsulate what’s going on here. The piece I’ll be reading is by a woman named Nicole LePera, but she’s not the only psychologist out there synthesizing feminism into psychology and calling it a new paradigm, which if you understand paradigmatic processing, it isn’t. Synthesizing elements of two paradigms together doesn’t make a new paradigm and often creates messes where the two models contradict, as you’ll see.Feministic psychology, also being popularized by a guy named Terry Real, is a good example of where woke sensibilities infiltrate mass consciousness. It’s subtle to the untrained, and that’s why I wanted to read this piece line by line for a woman’s perspective. Lastly, Anja and I recorded this with an iphone on my lanai, so it’s not the quality you’re used to. Apologies for the wind distortion and hammock chain you’ll hear occasionally. And there is no video version of this podcast.
