In the late 40’s and early 50’s, that wild and unpredictable time when roots country music careened head-long into the birth of rock ‘n roll, a new sound emerged - a wondrous fusion of some of the best elements of vintage country music and vocal harmonies with an early rock ‘n roll feel. And this is exactly what Dede and the Do-Rights music is all about! Their powerful vocals and beautiful harmonies are a treat to the ear and the band’s exciting, infectious energy makes their listeners want to jump to their feet and dance the night away!Dede Wyland has forged her musical career in the great world of bluegrass music as a nationally and internationally known singer and touring artist. Her compelling voice has enchanted audiences around the globe, and her driving rhythm guitar style becomes the rhythmic core of whatever group she joins forces with. Since moving to the D.C. area, she has been the recipient of 11 Washington Area Music Association Awards for her singing, and her career is the subject of a dedicated chapter in Murphy Henry’s 2013 book Women in Bluegrass: Pretty Good for a Girl.
