Deep Dive into Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin - The Similarity of the Old and New Testaments

from Reformed Thinking · host Edison Wu

Based on the sources, the fundamental difference between the righteous and the wicked lies not primarily in their experience in this life, but in their ultimate destiny after death. While the wicked may seem to flourish and find temporary ease on earth, their path leads to ruin and the whirlpool of death. Death for them is described as final despair. They will awake to everlasting contempt, be cast into the pit of destruction, and gathered in hell like a flock, where hell shall be their home. Their memory will rot, and they are cut off from the hope of resurrection, facing eternal and never-ending ruin.In contrast, the righteous, despite often facing suffering and hardship in this world, have a sure hope. For them, death is the entrance to life. They are preserved forever and their souls are redeemed. They will awake to everlasting life and everlasting salvation. Their hope extends to eternity, resting in God's everlasting mercy. They seek a better country, that is, a heavenly one, for which God has prepared a city. They will enter God's immortal Kingdom, possess eternal life, stand in the new heaven and new earth, behold God's face in righteousness, and dwell in His presence forever. The key distinction is therefore the eternal state – union with God and everlasting life for the righteous, versus eternal ruin and separation from God for the wicked. This difference is fully revealed at the end of the age, overturning the appearances of this world.Reformed Theologian GPT: https://chat.openai.com/g/g-XXwzX1gnv-reformed-theologianPatreon: patreon.com/edi_reformed

Women with Dyslexia Podcast: Living the Gospel with Power Hope B This podcast is designed for women with dyslexia who believe that God can do something new. The Apostle Paul says that we are transformed by renewing our minds to do what pleases the LORD, which is His will. When our minds are renewed (neuroscientists call this neuroplasticity), we are transformed. This podcast will contain short biblical messages designed to replace our old negative thinking with the truth found in God’s word. It is devoted to encouraging and inspiring adult women with dyslexia by listening to biblical truths that will uplift and challenge them to find a place for dyslexia in their lives and let Christ take center stage of their lives. To benefit from these short yet powerful messages, I recommend making these podcasts part of your morning and evening time with the Lord. Thank you for joining me.
