Defending John Wayne Gacy

Karen Conti was the only woman on John Wayne Gacy’s legal team during his appeal process to have his death sentence commuted to life in prison. Over the course of the last 7 months of his life, Karen spent some 50 hours in person with Gacy and countless on the phone. She details the whole experience in her book, Killing Time with John Wayne Gacy: Defending America’s Most Evil Serial Killer on Death Row. She explains how she came to work on Gacy’s appeal, what he was really like in person, and how she reacted the first time she saw his infamous “Body Book.” Karen shares whether she believes there are more Gacy victims out there, and whether or not he acted alone in killing his 33 known victims.
