In Order to defend oneself against the deceptions of Satan every believer 1. Satan's Plan (Genesis 3:1-7) 2. God's Provision (1 John 2:13-14) 3. Jesus' Practice (Matthew 4:1-11) 1. Satan's Plan (Genesis 3:1-7 - ESV) i. Identifying Desires (natural) ii. Creating Doubt (Gen 3:1) iii. Cunning Deception (Gen 3:2-4) iv. Arousing Desires - sinful (Gen 3:5) v. Enticing Disobedience (Gen3:6) vi. Enjoying Destruction (Gen 3:7-8) 2. God's Provision (1 John 2:13-14 - ESV) Every believer will overcome the deceptions of Satan if they live in God's Word and let God's Word live in them. 3. Jesus' Practice (Matthew 4:1-11 - ESV) i. Reflect upon the area(s) of bondage or sinful behaviour. ii. Recognise the lie(s) at the root of that bondage or behaviour. iii. Replace the lie(s) with the Truth. One of the keys to letting God’s Word live in you is to remove the lies that have taken hold in your thought life and replace them with scriptural truth.
