Defense Falters, Rookie Rise | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians took a brutal loss to the Twins, derailed by a shaky defense that coughed up key runs in the second inning — even as pitcher Joey Cantillo kept his head. Taj Bradley’s dominant outing almost single-handedly carried the team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the sloppy play. Fans are buzzing about Chase DeLauter’s hot streak since returning from injury, while Travis Bazzana’s post-All-Star error sparked emotional questions. Ahead, Slade Cecconi steps up to stabilize the rotation, and Parker Messick’s Rookie of the Year surge continues to heat up — all while the team desperately needs to clean up the defense if they want to turn things around.
