Ralph (caller): Hey Charlie, good afternoon. Charlie James: Yes sir. Ralph (caller): When are we going to mandate personal responsibility? Charlie James: Gosh, if we only could, right? Ralph (caller): Why are we making so many excuses for everything? Yeah. You know what it is, Charlie? Charlie James: What's that? Ralph (caller): Everybody has a sin-drome. S-I-N D-R-O-M-E, a sin-drome. We all have one. But what are we supposed to fight every day? The natural things we want to do. Charlie James: Yeah! Ralph (caller): Her being in... in medicine? Come on, now. Charlie James: Yeah. Ralph (caller): I mean, it's... everybody's got an excuse. Charlie James: That's the truth. Nobody ever... I bet... You go... You go to any prison in America and ask 99% of those people if they're innocent or guilty, they'll all tell you they're innocent. Right? Nobody ever did... ever committed a crime, but yet they're all in jail. It's pretty amazing. Ralph (caller): But Charlie, I don't want to play the race card, but if she would have been a Black woman, they would have had an all-white jury convict her, you know that, right? Charlie James: Well, if she'd been... if she'd been a man, that whole thing... If she'd been a Black man, that jury... that thing would have lasted about... if they took lunch... They wouldn't have even gotten to lunch! Right? I appreciate it, Ralph, you're exactly right. No, no, men, we would not get the benefit of the doubt on this. There would be no one outside the courthouse, you know, in plaid shirts and cargo pants and sandals with socks, defending men. That would not have happened. But these liberal women up there in Massachusetts and all over the country, they're like, "Oh, she didn't..." She did it! She admitted she did it! I don't know how much more cut-and-dry you can have in a case than that. You admit you committed the crime, "But I didn't know what I was doing." All right, all right. First time you did it, maybe you didn't. I'll just play a little devil's advocate there. First time, maybe you could understand it. Second time? 'Cause you've seen what you've already done! Second time? Third time? That was what... Uh-uh. No, no, no, no, no. No. "Charlie, reference the nurse with a master's degree, it's been said that the only difference between a person with a degree and one without a degree..." I don't know what that means.
