Defining Adversity

from Building Resilience

Trauma and adversity look different for every person. Loss of a loved one, divorce, PTSD, sexual abuse, basically anything imaginable. But there's no "difficulty requirement"—your hard times are hard, and comparing yourself to someone who "has it worse" doesn't take into account that your feelings are valid and they matter. In this episode, we talk about adversity. What it is, what it isn't, and why we'll all experience it at some part of our lives. You'll also hear us briefly discuss post traumatic growth—finding beauty in the ashes. Trauma isn't something we seek out to become stronger, but it's a reality of life—and since that's so, let's see what we can gain from it! Find us on our website or join our Facebook group. We'll see you there! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
