Jane Elliott, an antiracist educator for over 50 years and is most known for her Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise. She's our guest on Communicate Like You Give A Damn this week to talk about the power of language leading to behavior in antiracism work. And, if you're familiar with Jane's work, you know she is a relentless educator and will share what she wants us to know and understand about the urgency of this work. She talks about updating our language from 15th-century terms to divide people into Black and White to accurate terms that honor each other's humanity. This episode dives DEEP into the act of “othering” and identifying each other as just one race…human.
