Delaney Hall Blocked Again

New Jersey health inspectors faced another blocked inspection at Delaney Hall detention center, this time with limited access despite a planned visit—following a May inspection where medical and living areas were off-limits. While kitchen checks found minor food safety issues, the repeated denial of full access has triggered a lawsuit against GEO Group, owner of the facility, accusing them of violating state law. DHS dismissed the suit as “frivolous,” but state officials stand firm, insisting public health inspections are legally mandated. The facility, already under fire for past complaints of spoiled food, poor water, and inadequate medical care, continues to draw protests and calls for closure.
