Delegation in Rome After Pope's Apology

First Nations, Métis, and Inuit delegates speak with reporters in Rome, Italy, following a meeting at the Vatican in which Pope Francis apologized for the Catholic Church's role in Canada's residential school system. Elders, knowledge keepers, and residential school survivors participated in a series of meetings with the Pope this week as part of an effort to secure the apology. Speaking at the news conference are elder Fred Kelly, Assembly of First Nations N.W.T.
