Deliberate Sin - Audio

from Chiangmai Christian Fellowship · host Tim Dunham

Summary - In recent times we have come to place a high value on genuineness, and transparency, and being real. This is a good thing no doubt. But it has an interesting side effect in that Christians, now, become almost proud of their sin and brokenness. In fact, if one speaks of pursuing a life of Holiness in Christ likeness, they are looked at as being in genuine or hypocritical. The assumption is that sin is just part of life even for a Christian, and that a life of Holiness in Christ likeness is unattainable. It would seem that the goal of the Christian life now is simply to be forgiven over and over rather than be changed and transformed. Praise God that his grace is sufficient to cover all of our sin and we do find abundant forgiveness where we have failed. But the goal of the Christian life is not simply to receive forgiveness but rather to be transformed and made into the image and likeness of Christ. If we are simply settling for a life of sinful brokenness and the experience of forgiveness we are following far short of what the Cross has accomplished for us, but God promises to do for us see the work Jesus’ blood.
