Deliverance

This sermon was preached on 07/23/23 at First Christian Church in Wilmington, Illinois.Psalm 40 shows us David in patient waiting. Waiting for God to pull him up out of the muck and set him back on firm ground. He's waiting for God to throw him a rope. He realizes that he cannot bring himself out of his troubles on his own; he needs God's help and he's willing to be patient and fully rely on God to deliver him. What is patience? It’s the ability to wait for something without frustration.The power of the promise is only guaranteed, in belief. A complete surrender.
