Dell is an avid sewist, a SewOver50 follower and a very supportive listener of this sewing podcast. She learned to sew from her grandmothers and Dell discusses the value of the sewing teaching by Mary Brooks Picken. Dell saved lots of money sewing her dresses for vocal performances using Bemberg lining because it was more affordable than silk fabric was.
