Demands of Discipleship (9:45 Contemporary)

Jesus says some hard words about discipleship and they are always to be taken seriously...but that doesn't mean we always take them literally. Jesus is not setting a new law or a new code on governing family life in the kingdom of God. Does a call to discipleship uproot us from our family? By no means. A deeper call to discipleship should call us back to family. One would dishonor God by using this text to evade responsibilities that are clear throughout the scriptures. Ultimately, God's call on our lives should be serious and real.
