Democrats in local midterm congressional races getting big support from PACs

​According to Federal Election Commission records, insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions are major supporters of the campaigns of U.S. representatives Melissa Bean, Sean Casten, Bill Foster, Mike Quigley, Delia Ramirez, and Brad Schneider. ​The DAILY HERALD reports that of the nearly $4.6 Million that all Political Action Committees have donated in these suburban midterm congressional races, less than 1% of that money is in support of Republicans. Records reveal that PACs representing financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies and defense contractors are the most generous to Chicago-area candidates.
