Democrats Unite Against Netanyahu | US News

California Governor Gavin Newsom says Democrats are nearly united in criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, citing settler violence and opposition to a two-state solution as key issues. Polls back this up—most Democrats now see U.S. support for Israel as too strong and believe Israel’s Gaza actions amount to genocide. Newsom calls the situation a “moral catastrophe,” supports Israel’s security but increasingly condemns its government’s conduct, even comparing it to apartheid. He also says most Democrats oppose accepting campaign money from AIPAC, signaling a major shift since October 7th—and this change spans all age groups within the party.
