New York's 3rd Congressional district. On Tuesday, former Democratic congressman Tom Suozzi won a closely watched special election in New York's 3rd Congressional District. The election to replace former Rep. George Santos (R) was between Suozzi and Mazi Pilip, a registered Democrat and political newcomer who served as a Republican in Nassau County's Legislature and made the southern border and immigration a centerpiece of her campaign.
