In the dead of night as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three dark things take power, we like to call it the supernatural hour. Hey, welcome to the supernatural hour. This is Raven and I have with me.
One castle. Right, just us. So I'm super excited for part two of today, honestly. I am too.
By the way, we probably mentioned that we liked Chad in the closet because we were so excited we didn't want to share. So Chad in the closet. It's like food under the door to him. We're breaking out for investigations now.
Yeah, no, he's not feeling good. So he has bowed out for today. So we're going to get into our part two. If you haven't listened to the last part, that's fine.
You don't need to listen to the first part first. You can listen to these in any order. You might miss some of the buildup of counting down from 10 to one, but we are going to be talking about as per Catholic clergy, the 10 most demonic cities in the United States. So before we get to that, we do have a really, really cool residential investigation that we did.
We will talk about that. Castle was there with me. We will talk about that at the end of the podcast, not yet. But that was a great investigation.
It was really good. We had a little bit of everything in that one. So that one was fun. You know, castle, what's going on with the photo arts?
It is spring. Spring has sprung. The flowers are out. The trees are green.
High school is getting out soon. It is time to hurry and schedule your senior pictures before it is too late. There's only what? Six weeks left of school and the schedule is filling up.
So castle photo art.com. We do senior pictures. We do head shots. We do office pictures.
We do weddings. We do pretty much anything real estate photos. Give us a call. Let us know.
Awesome. Let's talk about a couple of businesses before we jump into our topic. First is our new venue contest. We don't know when we are going to this new venue.
It is a really cool one. We have a contest wrapped around it. The person who guesses this contest gets to get a 40-ounce Tumblr on our last podcast. I said 50, 40, 40-ounce Tumblr with supernatural logo on it.
Inflation people. Inflation 50 to 40. I was listening to the podcast later. I was like, oh, I'm an idiot.
40-ounce Tumblr. If no one guesses it, I was supposed to put out a new hint the last podcast and I forgot. I'm not surprised no one got it yet. I know.
I will literally, when we're done recording, I will actually put up a new hint. Get those guesses in. If no one guesses by the time we go there, we'll just put everyone's name in a hat and pull it out. Get those guesses in.
Hop on over to Facebook on our website or go to Facebook on our Facebook page or our website advancedparanormal.com and send in those guesses. We've gotten a ton. So this will be fun. And this is for digital, not digital.
This is for postal insiders and above. If you sign up as a Patreon, you also, for the first few, not forever, first, I think we're going to say five, you get also a 40-ounce supernatural hour Tumblr besides all your normal perks that go along with that. Which this year, the shindig that we have is going to feature, not Chick-fil-A this year, but Castle's pulled pork. It will be amazing.
So we've got Benton Gris Mill coming up on April 25th. Tickets are available at advancedparanormal.com or you can go to Event Right but you got to go see our new website. It's looking fantastic. And we just have a ton of stuff coming up.
So we talked a little bit about this on our last podcast. One reason why I didn't get a teaser up on Facebook is I've been busy revising my Piper's ghost book. So as soon as that revision is up, we will tell you on the podcast. I'll post it everywhere.
We're actually going to have a page available on our website where you can get my books and where you can get raised books. She's actually going to be on our next podcast and she's going to plug her new book and her old book and we'll plug my revisions. We'll just have a big old, it's not just a book podcast. So we're still chime in.
We're going to talk about something that goes along with demonic cities. But chime in. So last but not least before we jump into our main topic is there's a paranormal investigation fundraiser. Now this is not something that we are putting on.
This is being put on by, I cut off who it was by, lone wolf paranormal. I think it's a little conglomeration of a bunch of paranormal teams in Utah. They are also going to be at the Benton Gris Mill. This is on June 27th and they are doing this as a fundraiser for the Marriott family and it's going to be a ghost hunt.
They're going to be food and their lone wolf paranormal is doing this for the Clay Marriott family. They are facing just a really difficult battle with some advanced stage for cancer. And this is not, again, this is not something that we're putting on. We just ran across it and it looks really cool and we want to promote it and we want to help the family out.
So I contacted them and said we were going to promote it and they said that would be fantastic. So again, that one is on June 27th, 7 PM. The cost is $15 per person for the investigation. If you want food, it's extra $5 per plate and that will be a burger, drinks and chips.
If you're not available to go, you could just send them some donations. They would love that. If you can't attend, tell other people about it and get them there and let's hunt for this really amazing cause and help the family out. Alright, I've been Yammering on.
Let's get into the good stuff. Alright, so good stuff. Before we jump back into the good stuff, we just want to remind her, like we mentioned in the first part, that what we're talking about is some issues, some things that Catholic priests see that make these lists on the top pen lists. And what they see is just things going on in the city that's going to invite spiritual darkness or maybe just a heavier negative influence that's going to show up more in these cities than in other cities.
And this is coming from a Catholic viewpoint, so you may or may not agree. And that's okay, we don't all have to think the exact same thing that would be born. But we're using it as a springboard for discussion. We're not making any definitive statements per se.
And kind of like we said last time when we were talking about the same thing in our previous episode, this isn't about pointing fingers at specific cities or calling out specific groups. All these cities have got strong communities, very positive groups of good people and a lot of places of light. In fact, one of the first things we're going to talk about, I'm really going to point out some of that. But what we're really talking about here is more of an overall atmosphere.
Things like cultural trends, industrial policing systems and environments that make these cities these Catholic extras have declared to the 10 most demonic cities in the United States. And I can't help but disagree. I can't help but agree just based on the factors that they're factoring in, but they're saying they have more problems in the cities. They're saying there's more influence in the cities from these entities.
And it makes sense as you can take it apart. But again, just to emphasize I know there's good people, there's good organizations, there are good things in the city. So I don't want anyone to think we're just painting these cities with a broad brush. Like if you're from one of these cities, we understand there's good people in these cities.
So in some of these cities, well, all these cities have got very good positive traits. Exactly. And so basically what we're doing is we're just going to continue to look at these cities. Through the same lens that we did last time, not judging, not to generalize, but just to explore how environment and culture can influence the spiritual tone of a city or an area.
Now in part one, we covered city's 10 through six. So tonight we're going to dive into the top five. All right. Oh, Castle, Hugo first, we were both wanting to start.
So excited. This one's one that I'm going to talk about. So number five on the list continuing from last week and we're in the top five. So right smack in the middle.
The top part of the middle is any guesses you to? Well, I'll just say it. Yeah, we miss mystery of radio. You guys mystery of radio.
What's that matter with you too? It is Las Vegas, which totally makes sense because Las Vegas, it's considered sin city for those who've never been to Vegas. When you drive into Vegas, there's all kinds of billboards about gambling billboards about and gentlemen's club, sports services, gentlemen's clubs, alcohol. That's the saying what happens if Vegas stays in Vegas.
So city built on indulgence with a core gambling identity, specializes in excess, cafes, temptations. You can't really walk down the strip without someone handing you cards with ads to gentlemen's clubs. In fact, actually I have to tell a story here. So I used to be a sex crimes detective and SV detective and we used to investigate basically childhood abuse, right?
So we had a conference in Vegas and one of our prosecutors was unable to go to the conference but yes, it's the bring back some literature. So we took a brown paper bag, we went up and down the strip and took all the literature, people were handing on the strip and put them in the paper bag and we took him back from the conference. If you've never been to Vegas, I need to describe this literature. So there was a period of time where Vegas tried to promote themselves as family friendly.
They didn't stick very long. But this literature are little cards, like baseball card size and they're just all on board. It's just naked ladies and... They're ads for ads for sports services, ads for gentlemen's clubs and yeah, it's just like software porn basically.
There's a lot of the titties. So just as a chuckle we took him a bag full of literature that we brought back from the conference. Anyway, so with Vegas, you've got that whole what happens here stays here at secrecy mindset. When you come to Vegas, there's no accountability, what you do there stays there.
So that helps invite that dark spirit into the environment if that makes sense. These type three, these demonic entities, they like to work in secrecy. They want us to be doing things in secret that were ashamed of. They want us to be doing that stuff.
Along with that, you also got like high levels of addiction. Raven, did you have something? I was just going to say the whole mindset of what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I think we've talked recently about how Castle and I like to watch cops.
There's a show made by cops called Jail and my favorite one is Jail Las Vegas. And the whole entire episode is just all these people that they bring in. And one of the things they say is what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas because we get to watch it on my TV show. But going into just addiction, almost everybody that they bring in, regardless what they've done, they're all drunk.
Every single one of them and almost every single person. And then every time. Exactly. And I'm sure there's a lot of people that aren't.
But the ones that they show on the episodes are and they have to put them in a sell off to the side until they come down, until they can talk. There's so many, so many. Anyway, continue. And with that, talked about that jail show.
And we already kind of mentioned that there's a huge levels of addiction in Vegas. You've got gambling addiction, which you don't see in areas like Salt Lake City. Gambling addiction is kind of rare outside of a place like Vegas where it's legal. Alcohol addiction, alcoholism, substance addiction.
When you've got that level of sexuality being peddled all over the place, there's going to be porn addiction. And these entities, these demonic entities, they feed on addiction because it's a loss of control. And it can open a door in some cases to these entities. So that's a high risk area for these entities to be able to operate in.
Now, these negative entities, they need an invitation. They need an in. And if they see any sort of weakness whatsoever, they're going to take advantage of that. And you're going to get those weaknesses, both being drunk, with being high.
And we're always telling people at our investigations, if you're under the influence of any sort of substance, we're going to ask you to participate in our event next time because it's not because we're trying to smash everybody's fun. It's because we want you to be safe. And no one knows better than Drake, what it's like having a negative entity hanging around you or jumping into you temporarily. Yeah, we're not going to speak about that.
I thought we were going to get a story. One of these things too with a city like Las Vegas is all this. Friends are in Vegas. It's a very, very, very stimulating city.
And why not search bright lights everywhere? There's excitement. There's all the things I mentioned. There's money.
There's there's parting. In fact, personally, when I go to Vegas, I can have about 40 hours of Vegas and then I want to get out of Vegas because I'm just I'm maxed out after two days. Well, and there is in your defense, Castle, there are a lot of really fun things to do in Vegas. Going back to cities are full of fun things and good people.
There's a lot of fun shows, concerts, I like I like going down for Penn and Taylor. There's amazing food down there. There's a lot of good things, but there's a lot of. Right.
40 hours are the good things that I'm ready to go because I'm not really a huge gambler. I'm definitely I don't drink. I'm not a partier. So 40 hours of Vegas is enough for me, but that environment to where it's just always like honest, spiritually numbing.
It's emotionally numbing. It's just damaging. But one interesting thing about Vegas though is for anyone who knows the history of Vegas, it was actually funded by the Mormons. Yep.
And there's still a huge L.E.S. presence down there. There's a temple in Vegas. I've heard a lot of this seems like a higher membership of the church because they feel they're more trustworthy.
So I quote we said at the beginning of the podcast there, I don't want to indict these cities as like these places are terrible. We should never go there. It's a really good positive things in many cities. Oh, absolutely.
And Vegas for us, it's only a five hour drive. And so it's we need a little getaway or we want to go to a concert. It's a really quick trip for us to pop down there and go down there. So in Vegas, you're also going to have a pretty big transient environment, people passing through not as much stability, a lot of transient people are going to have issues with mental illness, they're going to have issues with substance abuse.
And you're going to have a lot of prostitutes, a lot of runways down there trying to make so many and not even runways. Sometimes people will just go to Vegas from other states and they think I can prostitute myself out for a night, get some big bucks, and then go back to school or whatever it is that they're doing. But Vegas is a big place for transients because the weather there is a lot warmer year round than it is other places in the West. So you're going to get a lot of that.
And it's just a place that really encourages impulse over restraint. One more push of that. What they're called, the words have lost me. It's a lot of machine.
One more drink. One more all that's in Vegas. I just call that number on the card. Exactly.
In Vegas, people watching. It's fantastic. And the later into the evening, you get the more you're seeing the people and less of the clothing that they're wearing. There's a ton going on.
And so it's very easily to get distracted from maybe things that you should be doing as opposed to things you ought not to be doing. From a demonic spirit standpoint, it's really a target-rich environment. Just a lot of opportunities. A lot of, it's just that environment, just a breeding ground for negative energy playground, so to speak, for these demonic spirits.
So that's my biggest number five on our list. And if you think about it, the city, the temptation is not just like present. It's actually kind of the main attraction. That's the attraction of Vegas is the gambling, the free flowing alcohol, the over-indulgence and food, the warm weather for transients and substance abuse.
That kind of stuff. And that's what Vegas is about. If you get rid of the gambling and all those things, Vegas is just any other desert city might as well be flaxed. I've heard known at that point.
Right. The nickname for Vegas is literally Sin City. So they're not hiding it. It's not mean hidden.
Now, if you do go to Vegas, where we're talking about is mostly going to be on the street. If you just go into town, it's going to be a lot better. But where do people go when they go to Vegas? They go to the street and they go to Fremont Street.
Drake, do you have any fun Vegas stories? You've been to Vegas. Multiple times. Yeah.
You can't live in Utah and not go to Vegas. But when I was there, I took a friend of mine last year from, well, I didn't take her. She's from New Zealand. She met me there.
She was there for a piece of veterinarian. So she actually met me there and I flew down and we went to the Venetian. We went on the Dondilla ride in the Venetian and we were sitting there in line and the guy said, where are you from? And my friend says, I'm from New Zealand.
And he goes, where are you from? And I said, I'm from New York. And he goes, oh, you're local. So pretty much.
Yeah, pretty much. Alright. Number four on our list. So number four, and I don't think this is going to be a shocker to anyone that is on the list, is going to be New York City.
And New York City is going to have just a vibe that I think is going to be unique to any other city in the United States. It's fast paced. It's going to be a very high pressure environment. There's a lot of noise, a lot of distractions, a lot of honking.
Materialism is going to be just big. And the reason why is it's a very success-driven culture. There's going to be a lot of money involved. You've got the stock exchange there.
You've got a ton of big high-profile businesses there. And the mentality there is going to be too busy for spirituality. They've got to get to work. They've got to get this business off the ground.
Everything's very money-oriented, highly money-oriented there. One thing about a place like New York, if you think about it, is you can look and literally you fit with all these cities. You have to look at what is the goal of a demonic spirit. They want to influence and control.
If you think about it, we talked about last podcast about Los Angeles. If you look at where the two big culture centers in the United States, Los Angeles, New York, where's every single movie take place? Los Angeles or New York? I could say every single movie, but most of it's a big city.
It's one of those. If these demonic spirits can influence culture, if they can influence stock markets, if they can influence anything that affects us, then they can achieve their goal, which is basically to and I use my spirit or mine spirit. I use my air quotations here where I say, their goals to throw a wrench in God's plan and basically drag us down. And if they can control that stock market, if they can control the entertainment industry, that's a huge win for them, because they can do a lot of damage with those things.
And when it comes to being successful, there's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with being successful. There's nothing wrong with investing your money and growing your business and whatever it is. But it can be used as a tool if that becomes more important to you than anything else.
Materialism. When materialism, and there's the phrase of love of money is the root of all evil. And it doesn't mean that you can't choose to chase what others would say become wealthy. And if we could choose to become wealthy, we would all be wealthy.
But if you want to save your money, if you want to invest your money, if you want to do things to make more money, there's nothing wrong with that. But when materialism is the only thing, and I think anybody would agree with this, well, that's your focus and your goal, and it's the only thing that's important to you, it's definitely pulling you away from other things that can pull you away from family, it can pull you away from relationships, it can pull you away from even just resting and taking some time for yourself. Now another thing in New York that you're going to find is there's just a massive diversity of beliefs. Now, nothing wrong with diversity, nothing wrong with a lot of people sharing ideas.
And that's how we grow, that's how we become tall aren't we're not sure if that's diversity is a good thing. It can create a lot of richness. However, it can also create a lot of confusion. It can create distancing, it can create fighting, it can create problems.
And so there's gonna be that everywhere, but New York is so huge, so big, so much diversity that there can be a lot of good with that, but there can also come a lot of negative from that as well. All right, Drake, number three, what's it gonna be? So number three, I'm actually surprised it's not higher up, but number three is Washington, DC. So with Washington, DC, DC being the essentially pretty much the power center of the United States, and with constant exposure to ambition control and influence, which there's more influence down to that city than anything else.
Oh, you just think of everything with you here, drain the swamp and you're hearing corrupt politicians and castle. I would even venture to say, Drake, you mentioned the center of political higher than the states. I think that where we're really the only remaining superpower in the world, I say that extends outside the United States to basically everywhere because we exert our political will onto all kinds of other countries all the time. So that's like a world influencing city.
Also, power struggles, secrecy behind the scenes dealings that you also have behind the scenes dealings, but with Washington, that's the biggest one you get. Oh, yeah, I think of all the lobbyists you think of all that we hear about some stuff on the news, with the news, I'm gonna use my air quotes of things that are going on behind the scenes, the deals that they're making to get laws to pass. We don't want to get political on our podcast per se, but the elections being stolen, is that a thing? Yes or no?
Who knows? But yeah, there's just a lot of stuff going on there. A lot of dirty dealings. And you've also got a high pressure environment where ethics can be compromised.
If you compromise ethics, you're just open yourself up for type three, you can just get in there. Oh, yeah, we can talk about a blue dress with a stain on it all day long. And if you aren't aware of what that is, you need to go back and check out Clinton. Yeah, also seen as a place where power can take priority or morality, which again, that ties back into where ethics, the way you lose your ethics or your morals, you're just asking for type three, or you just take over.
Absolutely. Well, take all the political scandals, all the prostitution scandals, all the, all those things, that just goes right down into the ethics and the moral thing. On the secrecy thing, those all tie together. One thing too, I don't think that we really touched on this list is Washington, you see, is notorious for the violent gun crime.
And that city's got a lot of violent gun crime outside of the political channels, which is that many homicides taking place in a single city would definitely draw the attention of these demonic spirits. Right. And as you're looking at Washington, DC, it's literally one of the top political places, if not the top political place in the world, as far as being a superpower. And power is what these demonic entities, you know, thrive on that's what they want.
They want power. And if they can take down someone in power, that powerful person or that powerful group of people can be influential in just crazy ways. And so this is just going to be a hobbit. If there's going to be some demonic influence going on, it's definitely going to be here, which is one reason why it surprises me that it's not a little higher on this list.
Well, even then just the demonic influence to try and sway lawmakers to pass certain laws or affect certain things, in fact, all of us in a negative way. I think that all ties in together. If that's a huge place of influence, I can definitely see where they want their finger involved there so they can try and sway things to how they want them. Also, it's symbolically tied to authority control in a national and even global.
Oh, absolutely. And also third, you also associated with spiritual corruption that's tied to leadership and influence, which again, that ties back into with power comes not to quote Spider-Man, great responsibility. Right. And then I had a thought and it went right away.
Oh, and that just goes back to the leadership and the influence that it can have on a worldwide level. And I don't think anybody listening to this would say Washington DC has not corrupt. I think it's just a given. I don't think that's a big shocker for anybody.
You know, with the presence of historic symbolism, as an imagery tied to power structure, you've got obelisk, you've got statues and big things of water and everything. You're asking for just constant. Yeah. And like we talked about in the last episode, we're going to have a lot of Masonic symbols there as well as other stuff.
Also, it's to and it's viewed as a place where temptations and indulgence, but authority and control, yeah, you get contemptation there, but not as much as there is with authority. I think some people really let power and control go to their head and especially at a national level. In fact, not to get too conspiracy-theorist or political here, but there's a book called The Man Who Killed Nixon by Roger Stone and it's a fascinating book about Lyndon B. Johnson, really.
And he makes a very compelling case about Lyndon B. Johnson, the CIA, and the mafia being behind Kennedy's assassination. And when you see some of the evil and corruption behind Lyndon Johnson, how he even came to office in anything in Texas, the thing where if someone opposed you, they have a, I'm using my air quotations here, car accident, or they accidentally hang themselves, or Lyndon B. Johnson, there's a lot of murder and corruption involved with that man.
And again, some of these people power as the most important thing and it's power at any price. And how many people are like that there now who we are totally completely aware of how corrupt they are, how evil they are. We don't know. And these are the people who are affecting our future and making our laws.
In the LDS Church, in the Mormon Church, there's a phrase that we see in the Book of Mormon where it's called secret combinations. And the idea of secret combinations are just these things, these backdoor dealings, these works of evil to get certain agendas pushed. And we believe that they're influenced by Satan in these demonic entities. And what better place to do it in a place that has a lot of powerful people, a lot of powerful influence.
A lot of control. All right. So this next one on our list is not going to be any surprise. And it's the city I find fascinating just because of what it is and what it does.
Number two on our list is Chicago. And essentially about New York, which is our East Coast big city. You've got LA, which is our West Coast big city, and our Mid West big city is going to be Chicago. And Chicago is noteworthy because Chicago has between trillion homicides every single night because I exaggerate, of course, but just off the church gun violence, just violence and crime in certain areas.
Chicago's had a long history speaking of secret combinations that Raven mentioned with organized crime. So mafia, political influence, corruption. Chicago's also a city that's known for poverty and hardship, which if you think of that poverty and hardships generally link to substance abuse, it's linked to suffering, it's linked to pain. And there's been a lot of spiritual despair and generational struggles through Chicago as well.
So it's a place where hopelessness can take root. But really, I think the biggest thing with Chicago is just the political corruption over the decades and really that gun violence. If you have that many homicides in a night, no, there's demonic spirits who are influencing people. They're influencing the gangs.
They're influencing the politicians. You just know that influence is there. And I want to go back to the generational struggles. It's really, really hard to break out of that sometimes.
No matter how much you want to, no matter how hard you work to do it. And people try, people try, and one of my favorite documentaries or movies to watch is those success stories of the people that have been able to break out of that. And my heart just goes out to you because that's rough. But like Castle said, the hopelessness, the despair, the discouragement, the feelings that's going to bring in with that.
So if you're dealing with that, if that's something that you're plagued with, and it's really easy to say buck up a little camper, but really try to find the positive, whether it's going to big brothers, big sisters, whether it's whatever it is that you can do, helping your neighbors, smiling at someone, no matter how simple or how complex you want to make it, put yourself out there and try to help others. And don't let yourself get lost in yourself because you don't want to bring that despair in if you can help it. One thing that's interesting with these generational struggles that we've mentioned is I've seen a lot of documentaries where you get in these inner city gangs, and to them it's become so normal that, hey, you're getting a gang, you might get shot, they just don't value their life. And to them, that gun violence that I got to murder that guy from that game before he murders me, it just gets normalized and becomes a part of their life.
And these demonic spirits, ultimately, they want us to be dead. They want us to screw up our lives and they want us to be dead. That's basically their number one thing is not to get too religious on everybody, but God's plan is for us to be happy. They want to throw a wrench in God's plan, so they want to be miserable, and they want us dead.
That's it. And what better place than when you have all this multi-generational poverty, this multi-generational suffering to get to the point where these gangs just go out and murder each other. They're doing basically the demonic work for them. Yeah, and a lot of times kids get into gangs because it's something to do.
So if you live in these areas, a great thing to do to help offset this because there are great people that live in Chicago and there's great opportunities, take those opportunities into those inner cities and get those kids involved into anything to get them out of the gangs and not get them started in the gangs to begin with. Give them opportunities for things to do, sports, reading, knitting, swimming, whatever it is to get them something to do along different lines than beings. Raven's 100 years old when she says getting into knitting. You never know.
I'll make you a nice sweater. Let me tell you when knitting story, I do not knit or crochet. So I can crochet, but if you want a hot pad shape like in the meba, I am your girl. If you want anything else, I'm not your girl.
And by amoeba, I will try to make it square-shaped, but it'll be amoeba-shaped. And then knitting, I'm right-handed and castle, because our mom is left-handed and left-handed people should not be allowed to teach right-handed people how to knit. And that being said, Castle, how many times have you seen our mother knit anything? Never.
Which is why I was only a few hundred years old because nobody knits. So anyway, all right. So last one on our list and I'm going to steal this one because this one also makes me very sad because this is probably my second favorite city in the United States. If you remember, my first favorite is Boston.
Second favorite is not far away, 45 minutes on a train to be precise from Boston, which is Salem Castle. Never mind. I was about to say everyone's gonna be surprised because it's a small city. It's one of the small cities in our list.
You announced to be frickin' say that part. So carry on. Sorry. I just don't want to build any tension in this podcast today.
So Salem, and why? Well, obviously when you hear Salem, Jake, what's the first thing you hear at Think Open, you hear Salem? Strels. Exactly.
And there's just a very modern embrace of witchcraft and pagan practices there. And now half of our listeners just turned off this podcast. And again, it's like we talked about in the last list, when we talked about New Orleans, nothing wrong with going into a vampire shop. A lot of things have to do with intent.
And if you're doing things with innocent intent, that's great. But there's also a lot of the stuff that can be done with some nefarious intent. And just the nature of Salem, there's going to be a higher concentration of a modern witchcraft and pagan practices, nothing wrong with that. But because of that, it can open a door because that can be used for good, can be used for evil.
And so if you open that door, you're going to be more likely to attract one of these negative entities, if your intent is leaning more that way. And tourism in Salem is built around the cult, which we talked a little bit about last time too. And if you go there certain times of the year, it is just even though it's a tiny little town, not very big, it's packed with people, packed. In fact, I'm going to be there the last week of this October and I'm excited to be there.
But it is going to be packed because- He's going back to the nest. I'm going to bring you all the present. Extra sats and demons. So there are active spiritual communities there that are centered on non-Christian practices.
And remember, this is a list based on Catholic priests. So that's why that notice on the list. And there's a tendency there with the people that go there, people that pilgrimage there, to have- they combine historical fear with modern identity. And so spirits, these negative influences, these demonic spirits, they love fear.
And with fear, they can control. And that's going to carry out through anything. If you can get someone to fear you, you can control them. And think about it.
And I'm not saying that parents are demonic, but a parent is going to put a little bit of fear into their child. You're going to give a spanking. You're going to get your electronics taken away from you. But whatever it is, it gets like, oh, that happened.
So that's the normal level of fear. But you can control people with fear. And so you get a lot of this there. And so that's one of those things that's going to bring in those entities.
And honestly, Salem is seen as a symbolic center for the occult culture in the US, which surprises me. I would have thought that Norlin's would have been- I would be surprised if Norlin's wasn't a close second. I think Salem, just because of the witch trials, gives it a little bit of an edge over Norlin's. But Norlin's has definitely got to be a close- When I say close, we're talking like rats are close a second.
I would agree. I would agree. I think the genre's a little different. You get more of the voodoo vampire down in Norlin's and Salem, you're going to get more the witch and the pagan the deal.
Yeah, I would agree. All right. We want to add anything to this before we lock it down. It's interesting because a place like Salem, and we've done podcast episodes in the past on Salem, but when you designate a place like that as, oh, the Salem witch trials, it's interesting to me how I can just suddenly attract that particular type of attention where actual covens of witches do want to go to Salem, where it attracts those types of shops.
And it just becomes that. It's almost like it's and I sometimes get annoyed at this race because it's cheesy and corny, but it's almost like it was manifested into being, if that makes sense, where else isn't it really is at which city. So I find that interesting, but definitely that atmosphere does attract demonic spirits. There's a store and I'm not going to give it any extra attention, but I went to a store that sells magic stuff.
And I thought, huh, sometimes the store has some interesting stuff that primarily stuff and said, I'm going to go in that store and when you walk in, you could feel the negative energy, you could feel the negative spirits inside the store just like the minute you walked in, you walked in, punched in the face with negative evil energy. And so those type of spiritual lurking in places like that, looking for people who are interested that they can latch on to, that they can follow home, that they can influence, that they can hopefully gain some control. So it's not really any surprise to me or shocker to me that a place like this would attract those type of spirits. Right.
And I love Salem. I'm going there. Anytime I'm near there, I go there because I like it there. Now that being said, like we talked about in New Orleans, which you want to- It's a witch, you want to make sure when you go to a shop, we work with a lot of people that deal in witchcraft, we work with a lot of people that deal in paganism.
And I have not got any bad feels for many of those people. You're going to get bad feels from some of those people. So just use your own discretion. I've gone into shops where I'm like, this is a fantastic shop.
I've purchased a lot of things. I actually carry jet with me, a rock, the stone jet that I purchased in Salem. But I've gone into shops where I've walked in and thought, nope, got to get out of this one. And then I'll go into the next shop and it's perfectly fine.
And a lot of it's about intent. We do paranormal investigations. I hear people like, oh, you guys are doubling up to devil and it's going to ruin your life. I'm blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I've never had anything bad happen to me. And I don't think Raven has had anything bad happen to her. And I don't think Drake has anything bad happen to him. And the reason why is it's based on intent.
And one thing that we talk about when we go on these investigations, we talk about rules, things that you do and don't do that can open doors to problems. And where I'm going with this is our intent is good, our knowledge is sound. And we follow the safety protocols that we ask other people to follow because that's what keeps you safe and keeps you from having problems. That being said, I have relatives.
I have known people who don't do any research. They don't know what they're doing. And they start dabbling with stuff. And that's when they open doors, not to the spiritual looking for, they're looking for that person to come into the occult shop with the intent to cast a love spell and use magic with no idea what they're getting into.
And they trojan horse these people, they trick them into breaking the rules that are there to keep us safe and open doors. And that's kind of what it comes down to. Raven and I have a cousin. And we love this cousin dearly.
But this cousin's dabbled with some stuff and it's causing problems in their life. And it's because you have to follow the rules. You have to do those. You have to be on guard all the time for what it's potentially trying to reach out to you, trying to talk to you because you can open doors and a place like Salem where there is all these occult shops or New Orleans.
There are the mon experts are waiting for people who are naive and don't know the rules and are ready to swing that door wide open, step in and really do some damage. Absolutely. All right. So just a reminder, if you live in one of these cities, we don't believe you're evil.
Just the propensity of some of the activity and going on there can lead to a heavier demonic influence. Does anybody have anything, Drake, Cassel, anything we want to add to any of this before we move on? Just a reminder, and I know we've beat this horse to death. But again, these are not indictments of condemning whole cities.
These are just saying these cities have got certain elements that make them more susceptible to demonic activity than other cities. I have no doubt that there are good people in all these cities. There's positive things in all these cities. I'm not condemning the government because Washington DC is on the list.
I'm not condemning Vegas because people will choose to go there and have a good time. I will probably visit Vegas again in the near future. I go to LA probably once or twice a year. Again, not to paint these things with a broad brush.
These are just cities that these Catholic experts have pointed out is the most demonic and the reasoning why. And that doesn't exclude all the good things that have happened in these cities because there are good things. So again, please don't throw a hat at us if you do in those inappropriate pictures to chat at wisp.org. He really likes those and he's not here to defend himself the podcast.
So send away. Exactly. No, I'm going to Salem the last week of October. And then I will probably be going to Vegas sometime next year.
I'm actually looking for a show to go down. I want to go see Don Yansman. I want to go visit the Zechbagans paranormal museum. I really need to get out there.
And I don't know why I haven't yet. So you haven't been there and Drake can't go there. He's the Spanish for the night for hour. What's up?
No Drake. It's all the type three's and stuff that's in there. Yeah, they like to mess up him and he doesn't like that. Ah, all right.
Well, let's wrap up the show. Quick shout out real quick to our friends at Radio Ronin. The supernatural hour is part of the Radio Ronin Network. It's a fantastic show.
They have episodes twice a week Mondays and Thursdays. It's a show that's coming to comedy pop culture type show. You like Star Wars, Disney, anything to do with pop culture. They generally talk about it.
It's like a really fun morning show. It's out the terrible music. So Radio Ronin, the Radio Ronin podcast at Radio Ronin.com. Now we're not wrapping up the show.
We're just wrapping up the main topic. We still have lots of show left. So fine. I won't wrap up the show.
So we just want to give a shout out to wild thistle. Fantastic. If you haven't eaten there, go eat there, go support them. Their food food is so good.
And with that, Drake, what have you got in the widow's web today? We're going to talk about an obvious today. I like the obviouses. Yeah, everyone that's seen ghost adventures and obviously is it's device to where spirits can use and send words out.
They can choose from a list of words in there. They can use and talk to us with they can give us words like fight, ghost, tide. I've seen one where I want to give a certain four letter word until it's to go away. That one was a fun night was the word luck rhymes with luck.
And but the obvious it also can give false responses in that as well. Because it just like all of our equipment that we use, there are false sets that are trial and error user error is just you have to learn how to use it the right way right now with that. Oh, sorry. I mean, catch up, Raven.
Okay, we're just so excited to talk about it. I know the thing with things like Ovilus and there's several other devices that do the same thing throughout random words. I always when those are used, I always like to see how the works fit in context. Like if we're talking about something in the words contextual, I give it way more weight than fish just throw it out.
If you're talking about hey, did you die at this train station and also throw out spaghetti, I'm like, I don't know, that's not anything. But if I'm like, Hey, what's your favorite food and go spaghetti? Then like, well, that's like a good contextual answer. So I always think with things like the Ovilus and there's several other devices that do the same thing in several apps.
I always like to look at the responses and context and decide if they fit contextually or if they don't fit contextually. So that's like that device weight. Absolutely. And I was going to say something along the same lines as when you first turn on, it's going to pick up environmental things too.
If you get a random little radio wave that sneaks through or it's going to just self-trigger a few words here and there, but I don't get too excited about it unless it makes sense. And we did just a wasn't really a residential. It was a, hey, come check out our tattoo shop and see what's going on here. And we went and we investigated this tattoo shop.
And I was sitting in this room by myself. And I always say, don't investigate by yourself. Everyone was like within just a few feet. And I just was in this particular room by myself.
And I had, I don't have an actual ovilus because ovilus is a brand, but I have what I call my ITC machine. And same thing, it spits outwards. And I was sitting in this room and there was nothing going on, nothing. It was literally dead pun intended.
And so after about 10 minutes, I said, well, I'm going to leave because you could tell that there was something there, you could feel it, but it wasn't interacting with any of my equipment. And so finally I said, this is boring. I'm going to go someplace else. And my ITC machine said, don't go.
And so to me, that was something because it hadn't said anything. And when I said, I'm leaving because you're boring, within one second, two seconds, it said, don't go. And so to me, it's like, Oh, she said, I'm lonely. Right now, when it does spit out the random words, even though it's like, okay, yeah, spaghetti, that makes no sense.
But it does, for me, I still treat it as a tool because it's like, oh, because you can start thinking of things to say that maybe you're different, like, Oh, spaghetti, do you like spaghetti? Do you like noodles? Do you like, and sometimes that can trigger some questions you hadn't thought about or some things to get talking about to see if that might get the spirit talking. But yeah, those generic random words.
And then there's some that they could sail a time from 1700s. Hanged. There's a few words that it just, I don't know what it is that triggers it, but they come out all the time. Sometimes the word will come out and someone on my group will be like, Oh, oh, that's really interesting.
Like, says that 10 times a day. It's not nothing to get excited about. So awesome. So we are going to jump into the jump door.
Now this one's a little different. It's not really paranormal in a way. But I just got thinking about it. And before we jump into it, we just wanted to remind you that the drunk drawer is sponsored by Creations by Amberleigh.
If you need anything die cut, she is your girl. And also the Jewish, which is a performing arts and cultural center. They do all sorts of stuff there. So I want to know what is in Castle's Jump Door, what is in Drake's Jump Door.
And I'll start by going with what is in my junk drawer. And I have the brain of a nap sometimes. I had to take a picture of it. So let me pull up my picture.
In my actual jump drawer, and I want this everything will be here for three more hours, but there is a bracelet, there's finger on polish, there's a little crocheted purple something around there. I have a Poke Ball in my junk drawer, and then there's a screwdriver, there's a screwdriver, there's pens, there's a birthday card, there's a level, there's a little lid on your medicine. Like when you take off medicine, there's a little measuring lid, there's one of those in there. So nothing like really out there, but oh, there's a dog collar.
There's sewing needles. And it's just a big jumbled mess. There's no rhyme nor reason to it. We could keep going, but nothing.
Scissors, was it ties? A birthday card. So I was going to be something really fun in there, but there's not. I think the Poke Ball is the most something.
Castle, what you got in your junk drawer? Well, I'm a fancy lab, so I don't have a junk drawer because my whole life is perfectly organized. I just can't err, like bullshit. Everybody's got a drunk drawer.
My junk drawer, I've actually got two junk drawers, aside by side. So junk drawers, there's some AAA batteries, there's some AAA batteries. There's some pens and pencils of very uselessness, like none of them are good. It's like pens that are probably like dried up, and it's the drunk drawer where you go and they're like, ooh, a pen.
I need a pen. There's like six, and they're like either like weird colors or dried up, or I need to just throw them away. Right, and that's where dead pens and pencils and markers go to die. There's some packing tape.
My stepson, he found a place online where you could buy like knockoff fake airpods, and it's interesting because they look like airpods. They actually function like airpods, they're just not real, and they're super cheap. They work, and the iPhones actually detect them, and so he bought a whole bunch to resell several years ago. And because they were so cheap, like several members of the family got them.
So if you look in there, there's like various like single airpods with missing one, or again, they probably need to go to the garbage, but there they are. Screwdrivers, one phillipsed one, not phillipsed, I think it might be a majoring tape in there. Then just a little weird odds and ends, charging cords, but like, my checkers sense of use. Charging cords, but charging cords probably don't go to anything in particular.
Like, I need an iPhone charging cable, but there's definitely not one in there. There's probably like a USB micro that never uses anymore for anything. Those charging cables. So that would be Castle's Dunk drawer.
All right, Drake, what you got in yours? I have a bunch of little tiny like eyeglass screwdrivers, some screws, some like garden gloves. It's the day just been a become just a throw whatever you want in that drawer. Yeah, I think that's what my junk drawer is.
It's just like, I don't know where this goes. I need to clean. That's going to go in here. And then about once you're, I clean it out.
And Castle, the interesting thing is when I clean out my junk drawer, it seems like I throw away about 300 dead markers and pens. Yeah, I don't know why they go there to die, but that mind the same way. It's like, oh, I need a pen to sign something. And you open up and there's like 50 in there and they're like, oh, we're like pink ink or green ink or a dried marker or sharpie that's been left off of.
It's just like, yeah, it's like being a guy drowning or not drowning by a guy that has deserted island who needs a cup of water and there's water everywhere, but it's all salty and you can't drink any of it. Exactly. Yeah, it depends on yellow crayons that you can't write with. Yeah, exactly.
Well, as of this recording, Drake's heading to Salt Lake tomorrow is a tail's gonna be open. Yay, you're gonna stop by neat. If they're open. Sweet.
They should be and they're in their new location now. For those who haven't had oatails, it is amazing. It's Mexican food, and I know I've said this before, but it's like fancy Mexican food, just like delicious. Not that regular Mexican food isn't delicious, but it's like chef Mexican food, if that makes sense.
Yeah, don't expect burritos tortillas and enchiladas. Enchiladas, this is different, but it's really good. It's amazingly good. All right, so let's do the kidney hair now EVP segment.
And this is one, I don't think I've played this one on this podcast yet, and I actually can't take credit for this EVP. I think Raven made capture this EVP. So Castle was, well Castle has a stage where cancer for this, you don't know. It's currently detectable, so I'm not gonna die anytime soon.
And if I do, I'll leave good EVPs on my own. Not yet. But this is shortly after cancer surgery back in 2017, Wisps got to go investigate the old price gel before they tore it down. And so while they investigate the old price gel, they captured this EVP, which we're going to play now.
And if you listen, you're gonna hear a man's voice say, very slowly, don't grab his voice. Sounds like, today I am killing you. Then we'll talk about it. What do you guys think of that EVP?
That one's creepy. It's got that gravelly bit to it. I find it's interesting that it's from a jail too, because it's at an EVP from a killer at the jail. It's an EVP from Type 3 who is hanging out at the jail with a killer or something similar.
It's hard to tell. It's got that gravelly voice, but it's interesting because it's having worked in and around jails throughout the course of my career. A lot of things go on in jails. People commit suicide in jails, people die in jails, evil people get put in jail.
Not evil people also go to jail for different things, but a lot of really bad men and women spend time in jails. So there's a lot of dark things there. So I don't think I caught that. I don't catch EVPs.
If it was mine, it was a recording of mine that you listened to, but I don't want to take credit for an EVP that did mine. It was somebody from the group. I know it wasn't mine because I wasn't there because I was recovering from surgery. And I would be really sad I missed investigation.
But I know it's from our group. But a very interesting EVP nonetheless. And what do you think of the gravelly voice EVPs as compared to the ones that are more like a just a person whispering? It gives the vibes of a type three, but this could also be a type two that or maybe even just a type one that's trying to be funny or could also honestly be a mimic, to be honest.
Real quick. I know we haven't done it for a while, but if we have any new listeners who are like new to the supernatural hour, maybe we should take just a second explain what our typing system is because it may be alien to them. Drake, do you want to run with that? So type ones are going to be like grandma, grandpa, they're just a spirit that's there.
Type two is going to be like your school yard bully, or not school yard boy, they're the associate of a school yard bully there. The bully sends them out to go do stuff. And then type three, that's your demonic. That's the big bad ones that we like to stay away from, but we usually didn't find them more than anything.
Yeah, and that's a great explanation. Yeah, type one, and most anyone who's listening here, if you die, you're going to be a type one spirit. Type two is more level and human spirit. So if you're watching what it works, assholes in life, you're an asshole when you die.
And yeah, and the type three is the demonic. So that's a fantastic explanation, Drake. All right. So we do have a couple of investigations.
Our team actually went to Merkur last night, just just for fun, because sometimes we like to get together and just do stuff on our own. And we're actually going to talk about that on our next podcast because nobody here was there. And so we don't know what happened. What event would Drake had a family something that was more important to be at?
Yes. We are going to have people on next week that will that were there and we'll talk about it here. It was fantastic. But we did have a residential down near Eureka and Castle and I were at that one.
And I know that Castle talked about this one. That was actually a really interesting one. It was one of our new team members homes. They were experiencing some phenomena in their home.
And so we went down and we had a dinner. And by the way, the member who's home that is not enough, we can rebuild that or not. They went under wraps. Okay.
Anyway, that member happens to be a chef and we had some brisket and some mashed potatoes and some parrots that were to die for. Oh my gosh, so good. I just I wake up at night a cold sweat wishing I had some in my mouth and I don't know. It was so so.
