Demystifying Misinformation, Stigmatization and Fear about COVID19 Pandemic.

from Joey Off-Air Podcast · host Jœy Off-Air Podcast

Misinformation is false or inaccurate information that is communicated regardless of an intention to deceive. Examples of misinformation are false rumors, insults, and pranks. Stigmatization is when someone views you in a negative way because you have a distinguishing characteristic or personal trait that's thought to be, or actually is, a disadvantage (a negative stereotype).  Discrimination is not justified and has negative consequences for stigmatized people. We cannot allow COVID-19 to serve as a vehicle for racism. Instead, we can focus our energy on solutions and positive thoughts to combat infection and disinformation. Let's practice collective solidarity to support people affected by the virus.  Joey Shekwonuzhibo and other digital influencers were on #WorkingTogetherAgainstCorona to discuss these issues.
