With a life rooted in service, DJ has been a three-time Big Brothers/Big Sisters volunteer and an active mentor in juvenile court programs, passionately advocating for the needs of at-risk youth.A native of Montana and the second oldest of nine children, Dennis now resides in Gig Harbor, Washington, following rewarding careers as a flight attendant and real estate agent. After retiring in 2023, he turned his focus to storytelling and advocacy, publishing the powerful memoir Stick Figures: A Big Brother Remembers. The book chronicles his emotional 13-year journey with his “Little Brother” Mike, who later developed a serious mental illness.Through writing and public speaking, Dennis is committed to honoring Mike’s legacy and raising awareness about the importance of mentorship and support for vulnerable children.
