It is a business choice practices make for themselves. Most patients never find out until they are stuck waiting weeks for a remake with no one taking responsibility. In this episode, I'm going to break down why the traditional split model between surgeon and outside lab creates delays and confusion, and explain exactly why I built a fully in-house full arch practice instead.TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Your New Teeth Aren't Made Where You Think 0:19 My 2,000+ full arch case background 0:23 How the old split model actually worked 0:53 Why the split model felt normal for decades 1:09 What patients really go through with lab remakes 1:56 Questions to ask if you have been in this cycle 3:04 Why I built a fully in-house full arch practice 4:20 The one question to ask before booking a consult 5:04 The exact question every practice should answer clearlyQUESTIONS ANSWERED What does it mean when a dental practice sends your case to an outside lab?It means your surgeon plans and places the implants, but a separate lab designs and makes your teeth, often in a different building or company. This split creates handoffs where no single provider is fully accountable for your final result. How can you tell if a full arch practice handles everything in house? Ask directly whether the same team designs, mills, and adjusts your teeth on site, or whether any part goes to an outside lab or provider. A clear in house answer means one team owns your case from consultation through your final result and all follow up. Why do full arch implant patients get stuck in temporary teeth for months? Delays usually happen when the final teeth are made off site and need to be shipped back and forth for bite adjustments or remakes. In an in house model, those same adjustments can often happen the same day, in the same building.Watch Next: Implant Surgeon: What Snap-In Dentures Actually Cost You Over Time → https://youtu.be/fA8GDe5Pcjo📱 RESOURCES 🦷 Nashoba Valley Dental: https://nashobadental.com 🦷 North Billerica Smiles: https://northbillericasmiles.com 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.mattannese/🔔 New episode on full arch dental implants, smile makeovers, and what the dental industry rarely tells patients drop regularly.
