DePaul Stars Dominate Canadian Pro League

Three former DePaul basketball stars—Javon Freeman-Liberty, Javan Johnson, and CJ Gunn—are dominating the Canadian Elite Basketball League this summer, turning their summer into a proving ground for pro careers. Freeman-Liberty’s scoring explosion with Montreal earned him a top-12 league ranking, Johnson’s Toronto team is riding his 17-point averages, and fresh grad CJ Gunn is already catching NBA scouts’ eyes with Calgary. The CEBL’s early finish lets them chase other opportunities, and with Big East talent like Myles Powell also thriving, it’s clear this league is becoming a key stop for rising pros.
