Her interests are animal conservation, helping the homeless, the treatment of depression and bi-polar disorder and suicide prevention. She supports both the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Survivors of Suicide (SOS) - the latter is a support group for the people whose loved ones have taken their own life. She came to know of these organizations after the death of her younger daughter.
