Aber wie funktioniert das und wie kommen wir dahin? Der "Integrale Taktfahrplan" (ITF) ist ein einfaches mathematisches Modell zur Optimierung von Fahrplanangeboten in komplexen Netzen. Vielfach werden seine Regeln teilweise schon heute unter Begriffen wie "Rendezvous-Prinzip" angewandt. Dies geschieht jedoch teilweise unbewusst. Für ein gesamthaftes Gelingen ist allerdings ein "flächendeckendes" Bewusstsein bei allen Verkehrsbetreibern erforderlich. Eine gewisse Komplexität ergibt sich aus der Beachtung vielfältiger Randbedingungen. Der Vortrag befasst sich zunächst mit der Frage "Was ist ein Integraler Taktfahrplan" (ITF). Nach einem kurzen Rückblick auf die Entstehungsgeschichte werden die Wesensmerkmale beschrieben und anhand von Anwendungsbeispielen erläutert. Einen besonderen Raum nimmt die Beschreibung der Randbedingungen ein, die bei der Anwendung zu beachten sind.
