Derek Landers with Spokane Print Fest
from Spokast! Hosted by Spokast!
On this episode of Spokast, join me as I sit down with Derek Landers, a graphic designer and artist born and raised right here in Spokane. Derek's got some serious credentials—he's a graduate of SFCC Graphic Arts Design School and has been making waves in the design and arts community for over twenty years. Plus, did you know he's the mastermind behind Spokane's most recent flag design?!? But Derek's impact doesn't stop there. He's also one of the brains behind Spokane Print and Publishing, and he's helping organize Print Fest—a month-long celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community. Print Fest is where artists, enthusiasts, and curious minds come together to explore the art of printmaking through workshops, exhibitions, and interactive experiences. From relief carving to letterpress, there's something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned pro or just dipping your toes into the world of printmaking. So join us as we chat with Derek about his journey, his love for Spokane, and the vibrant artistic community that makes the Lilac City so special.
