Derrian Ford Returns to Temple | Temple Owls Basketball News

Temple basketball just got a huge boost as fifth-year guard Derrian Ford announces he’ll return for the 2026-27 season. A standout this past year, Ford led the team in scoring with 18+ PPG and dominated the conference in free throws — nailing 167 shots, the most by a Temple player in over a decade. He started every game, scored 20+ points 14 times, hit his 1,000th career point, and earned Player of the Week honors. His accolades include American Conference Third Team, All-Newcomer Team, All-Big 5 First Team, and the Palumbo Award as Big 5’s top scorer. Before Temple, Ford flashed potential at Arkansas and Arkansas State, averaging double digits and leading his team in threes by his sophomore year. A two-time high school Player of the Year who led his team to multiple state titles, Ford’s return is a major win for Temple’s program.
