Des Moines University Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) Anna Cruz, Admission Specialist and Talon Aitken, current D.O. student

from Gustavus Health Professions Podcast · host Heather Banks

Episode 34 we welcome TWO guests Anna Cruz, Des Moines University Recruitment and Admissions Specialist and Talon Aitken, current D.O. student attending Des Moines.  For this episode we focused on the Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) programs at Des Moines.  There are currently 9 health professions programs at the University and they will be adding OT, so soon there will be ten programs.  They offer both Masters and Doctoral level programs.  We had the opportunity to hear about what they both thought were the top strengths of a Des Moines University education. Another highlight for me was them explaining about both the many similarities of MD and DO and also what makes DO unique.  They walked us through (OMM) Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine training and what that training looks like in school and in practice. We learned a lot and know you will too.  Thank you for listening.
