Mais de 80.000 pessoas morreram de overdose de opioides no ano passado. Isso equivale a uma morte a cada seis minutos e meio. O transtorno por uso de opioides é uma doença particularmente difícil de tratar, mas existem medicamentos seguros e eficazes para isso. Eles ajudam a controlar os sintomas de abstinência, a diminuir o uso ilegal da substância e ajudar as pessoas a permanecerem em tratamento. No entanto, um estudo recente mostra que apenas uma em cada cinco pessoas com transtorno devidos ao uso de opiáceos recebe esses remédios.
