Tiempos en los que se perdió calidad de vida, el acceso a bienes indispensables, servicios básicos y la cena caliente de cada día. Nos endeudaron por nada. Nos endeudamos por otros. El sistema sostuvo a los vencedores y aplastó a los vencidos. Las crisis incrementaron la pobreza y profundizaron la brecha con los más ricos. La historia no solo describió el desenlace. Hubo un principio, especialmente uno, que anticipó los peores finales. Hasta 1974 había otro país. Ese año, el desempleo alcanzó el mínimo histórico del 2,7 por ciento y la informalidad apenas rozaba los 10 puntos. Tras la implementación del plan económico de Martínez de Hoz, la pobreza llegó al 21 por ciento sobre el final de la Dictadura y un 9 por ciento de los trabajadores se encontraban desempleados. Se habían sentado las bases para lo que vendría y ya no sería necesario golpear la puerta de los cuarteles. Algunos aún añoran la Argentina “potencia” de principios del siglo XX. Rania Awaad Muslim Central Dr. Rania Awaad M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine where she is the Director of the Stanford Muslim Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab as well as Stanford University’s Affiliate Chaplain. In the community, she serves as the Executive Director of Maristan.org, a holistic mental health nonprofit serving Muslim communities, and the Director of The Rahmah Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Muslim women and girls. In addition, she is faculty of Islamic Psychology at Cambridge Muslim College and The Islamic Seminary of America.She is also a Senior Fellow for Yaqeen Institute and the Institute of Social Policy and Understanding. Prior to studying medicine, she pursued classical Islamic studies in Damascus, Syria, and holds certifications (ijaza) in the Qur’an, Islamic Law, and other branches of the Islamic Sciences. Mohammad Qutub Muslim Central Dr. Mohammad Qutub is an Islamic scholar with several decades of experience as a teacher and orator. He completed his Master’s and PhD degrees in Uṣūl al-Dīn and Comparative Religion at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and has several Ijāzahs (licenses) and certificates in Qur’an, Hadith, etc. He has spoken internationally in the Middle East, the U.S., and Southeast Asia and regularly holds intensive seminars and university lectures. His passions and research revolve around: Islamic thought and history, Qur’anic Tafsīr, scientific Iʿjāz (inimitability) in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and comparative religion. He teaches students of all different ages and backgrounds in-person and online. He is also an engineer by profession with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the U.S., and extensive experience in the field of Industrial Gases.
