Christopher began his career in London in 1996, in investment banking with BZW, after winning the BZW Graduate scholarship from their NZ office. Whilst on holiday in South Africa in 2002 Christopher helped build a house for a family and realized that travel can make a positive impact, which inspired him to create the award-winning social enterprises Hands Up Holidays, Hands Up Incentives, Hands Up School Trips, and Impact Destinations, serving High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients. This instilled a passion for client excellence and delight and resulted in Christopher securing industry-beating retention and referral rates.Running a sustainability-focused and social good business for the last 16 years has endowed Christopher with a commercial mindset and an appreciation for the importance of having a ‘triple bottom line’ focus. Christopher also acted as de facto legal counsel for these businesses, so kept his legal knowledge up to date, as well as legal skills of negotiation and client problem-solving.His B.Com in Finance and his years in Investment Banking has instilled in him a head for numbers – he has done extensive financial modelling for company valuations, takeover target assessments, and preparing companies for venture capital/private equity funding, trade sales and IPO’s. After 16 years in London, Christopher moved back to New Zealand in 2016 to bring up his two children.
