Design Process in Architecture Studio Curriculum (Part 3) - Revisit the Diagram

from Talk Architecture · host Naziaty

Send us Fan MailComing up to the 1st year anniversary of the Talk Architecture podcast, we revisited the Diagram of the architecture design process that was produced right after the COVID-19 pandemic started last year and the lockdown situation that may have affected the usual studio-based learning programs. Some interesting insights were gained and I would assert that there are Pros rather than Cons to the situation, where a more precise desk crit / learning from the peers process can be had for most of the students together rather than few. Students can decide to "tune in" or "tune off" with closer proximity and accessibility to the feedback given by the tutors. And that there were many challenges even before the lockdown where everyone could be present at the studio but have difficulty to listen in crits which others are having. © 2021 Talk Architecture, Author: Naziaty Mohd YaacobPhoto (art work) of "the design process diagram for all architecture design studios at Universiti of Malaya"  by Naziaty Mohd YaacobSupport the showDo subscribe for premium content and special features which will help to support and sustain Talk Architecture podcast on a more in-depth explanation on design thesis and processes. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next. So tune in
